BARTLESVILLE, Okla. - Paul E. Biggs, 75, died Sunday, June 5, 1994 in Bartlesville.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Fairlanes Baptist Church in Borger with the Rev. Gregg Simmons, pastor First Baptist Church, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Art McAninch, pastor Fairlanes Baptist Church.

Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery by Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

A native of Independence, Kan., he had been a Bartlesville resident for 22 years. He was a former resident of Phillips before moving to Houston in 1967 and returned to Borger in 1971. He was employed in the exploration and production department of Phillips Petroleum Company.

Mr. Biggs transferred to Bartlesville in 1972, where he worked in the human resource department for Phillips, and was director of the drug and alcohol program before retiring Jan. 1, 1986.

He was a member of First Baptist Church in Bartlesville, and served as a deacon and sang in the church choir. He was a member of the Bartlesville Downtown Kiwanis Club, serving as president and was a founding board member, and also served as District Lt. Governor for two years from 1981-1982.

Mr. Biggs was founder of the Alcohol and Drug Center, Inc., in Bartlesville, and was recognized with an honor award.

He graduated from Independence, Kan., High School in 1936, and attended International Business Colleges and graduated in 1937.

He married Ruby M. Lewis Nov. 23, 1941 in Hobbs, N.M.

He was preceded in death by seven brothers and six sisters.

Survivors include his wife of the home; a son, Lawrence Edwin Biggs of Borger; and a grandson.

BORGER - Maxine Biggs, 78, died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Brown Funeral Directors Chapel of the Fountains with the Rev. Gregg Simmons, pastor of First Baptist Church of Borger, officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery in Borger.

Mrs. Biggs was a native of Asbury, Mo., and lived in the Borger/Phillips area from 1941 until 1967 when she moved to Houston. In 1972, she moved to Bartlesville, Okla., then returned to Borger in 1994. She was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Biggs, in 1994.

Survivors include a son, Edwin Biggs of Borger; an aunt of Independence, Mo.; and a grandson.
