Obituary Larry L. Jackson
Funeral services for Larry Jackson, age 67 of Seminole, Texas will be held Saturday, December 19, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Bush officiating. Burial will follow at Gaines County Memorial Cemetery. All services are under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home.

Larry was born February 23, 1953 in Monroe, Louisiana. After finishing high school, he served his country in the United States Marine Corps; he later worked in a linen factory. He married Carol Brown in Lubbock on March 3, 1989 and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. He had been a Seminole resident for nine years, moving from Lubbock.

Larry had a vibrant personality. He loved to play jokes and was very athletic and intelligent. He was a fabulous singer, very artistic, and he enjoyed writing poetry. He also had a black belt in Taekwon-Do. He was a great father and grandfather as well as a dedicated friend. He was very well-liked and will be missed.

Larry Jackson passed away at Seminole Memorial Health Care Center on December 14, 2020. He was preceded in death by his father, McKinley Scott Oats; one sister, Gwendolyn; his first wife, Stephanie and his second wife, Carol. He is survived by two daughters, Kwanza Jackson of Dallas, Texas and Kendra McGee and husband Chad of Levelland, Texas; his mother, Mary Oats of Seminole; one brother, McKinley Ray Oats of Seminole; three sisters, Brenda Boykins and husband Roger of Houston, Texas, Belinda Oats of Lubbock, and Connie Oats of Seminole; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
