MRS. ED BEARD DIES AT STATE ASYLUM FOR INSANE AT AUSTIN
----------

The body of Mrs. Ed Beard who died in the State asylum at Austin on Monday night of this week, was brought to Thorndale on the midnight train Tuesday and conveyed to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Guy Ralston in the Conoley Community where it was held until Wednesday afternoon when the funeral service was held at Salty and the body consigned to its last resting place in the Salty cemetery at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon. Rev. G. C. Lewis, pastor of the Baptist church of Thorndale, of which the deceased had been a member for a number of years, conducted the funeral service. Many loyal friends from Thorndale and adjoining communities attended.
Mrs. Beard suffered a mental collapse about four weeks ago and had only been at Austin about ten days or possibly two weeks, and her pitiable condition and untimely death brought heavy hearts to her friends in Thorndale and community. Besides her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Parton, and several sisters and brothers, she leaves a husband and three children, two boys and one girl about 14, 12 and 10 years of age. - Thorndale Champion.
