Morris, Dorothy Flowers Dorothy F. Morris passed on from this world on January 1, 2010; surrounded by her sons, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Dallas, TX on March 25, 1925; and lived in Dallas all of her life. She was predeceased by her parents Dorothy and Lee Flowers and her husband John Milton Morris. She is survived by her sons, John William "Bill" Morris and his wife Lori and Wilson L. Morris and his wife Lynn, Grandchildren Annalee Hickey and her husband Russell, Alicia Morris, Leeanna Morris and Charles Morris. She leaves behind her beloved companion of many years, Reuben B. Knight. She was very proud that she attended the University of Mexico in Mexico City and Oxford University in England. She graduated from Highland Park High School and went on to the University of Texas where she earned her bachelors' degree. Her love in life was being a member of the Pi Beta Phi Sorority while at the University. After graduation, she married John Milton Morris at Highland Park United Methodist Church and attended Church there for the rest of her life. After marrying, they lived in Austin for a short while before moving to Dallas. She was a member of the Dallas Country Club and always treasured her many friends there. Her second home was Cuchara, Colorado where she spent many summers and some winter days enjoying the serenity of the small community. She loved the mountains, but loved her friends in the mountains much more. Her Honorary Pallbearers include Herbert Hunt, Starke Taylor, Don Houseman, Jim Vandeveer, Red McCombs of San Antonio, Gage Pritchard, Ned Davis of Harlingen and Kiefer Marshall of Temple. In lieu of flowers, Dorothy requested that memorial contributions be made to the SPCA of Texas, Attn: Development, 2400 Lone Star Lane, Dallas, TX, 75212; or the Highland Park United Methodist Church. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at Highland Park United Methodist Church, 3300 Mockingbird Lane, Dallas, TX; on Monday, January 4, 2010, at 2:00 P.M.
