Obituary for Lester
Les Earnhart, 85, of Amarillo, formerly of Borger, died Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2006.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Brown Funeral Directors Chapel of the Fountains in Borger with the Rev. John Wagoner, chaplain of Craig Methodist Retirement Community in Amarillo, officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery in Borger.
Mr. Earnhart was born Oct. 1, 1921, in Butler, Kan., to Guy and Bessie Mae Earnhart. He was an independent carpenter, a Methodist, and a veteran of the Coast Guard, serving in World War II.
Survivors include two sons, Jery Earnhart of Borger and Jimmie Earnhart of Bartlesville, Okla.; three sisters, Alene Sparks of Glendora, Calif., Imogene Shanks of El Segundo, Calif., and Lillie Harris of Fritch; five grandchildren; and two great-grandsons.
The family suggests memorials be to the Alzheimer's Association Panhandle Chapter, 1400 Wallace Blvd., Amarillo, TX 79106 or Attn: Memorials, American Cancer Society District 15, 3915 S. Bell St., Amarillo, TX 79109.
