Obituary for Afton
BORGER - Charles Afton Edwards, 75, died Wednesday, Aug. 13, 1997.

Services will be at 4 p.m. today in First United Methodist Church with Dr. David Jones, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Love at Westlawn Memorial Park by Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors.

Mr. Edwards was born in Headrick, Okla., and had been a Borger resident since 1935. He graduated from Borger High School in 1939 and received a bachelor's degree from Drake University.

He served in the Marines during World War II.

Mr. Edwards retired from Edwards Petroleum Sales. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and the advisory boards of the Salvation Army and Norwest Bank.

He married Harriett Hauser in 1947 at Des Moines, Iowa.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Craig Edwards of Silver City, N.M., Blaine Edwards of Houston and Bruce Edwards of Borger; a brother, Don Edwards of Gatesville; three sisters, Jonnie Johnson of Mansfield, Beverly Gillman of Amarillo and Mary Augustine of Davenport, Iowa; and five grandchildren.

Obituary for Harriet
Harriet H. Edwards, 80, died Thursday, January 17, 2008 in Houston.

Services will be Friday, January 25th, at First United Methodist Church at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Don Boren, Pastor officiating. Interment will be in "The Garden of Love" at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Mrs. Edwards was born on April 14, 1927 in Eldora, Iowa and had been a longtime Borger resident. She married Charles A. Edwards on June 14, 1947 in Des Moines, Iowa. He preceded her in death in August 1997. She and Charles were owners of Edwards Petroleum Sales. She was passionate about her family and friends, and various charitable organizations in Borger including Friends of the Library. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

Her survivors include three sons - Craig A. Edwards of Burkeville, TX, Bruce Edwards of Austin, TX., Blaine D. Edwards of Houston, TX, five grandchildren - Sean Edwardss, Melanie Rodriguez, Kevin Edwards, Audrey S. Edwards, Cole D. Edwards. and six great-grandchildren.

Casket bearers will be Matthew Batchelor, Matt Hood, Cliff Murley, David Mooney, Cole Edwards and Kurt Schoch.

There will be a visitation for family and friends on Thursday, January 24th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Edwards will not be in state until Thursday morning, January 24th.
