Helen attended Oklahoma Baptist and Baylor Universities, majoring in music and voice.
Before Helen and her husband, Edwin Donovan Kuykendall, a special agent with the FBI, moved to University Park in Dallas in 1953, they lived in, California, New Mexico, Indiana, Minnesota, and Alabama.
For many years, Helen devoted her talents to the Park Cities Baptist Church choir and enjoyed traveling and oil painting. Her love of Ireland was clearly evident in many of her paintings and frequent travels.
