Alma Nadine Forrest
September 28, 1921 - July 8, 2017
Alma "Nadine" Forrest, 95, of Borger passed away at her home peacefully Saturday, July 8, 2017.
A celebration of her life will be held 3:00 pm. Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at the Minton Memorial Chapel. A private burial will follow in the Sunset Garden at Westlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Alma Nadine Forrest was born September 28, 1921 to Leslie James and Alma Vivian Overton Head in Lawton, Oklahoma. They relocated to Hutchinson County in 1926 where she spent most of her life. Alma married Dean Forrest June 4, 1937 in Perryton. They owned and operated Dean's Bait Shop since 1970 and worked at J C Penny's. She also did welding on ships during WW II, which was known as Rosie the Riveter war support. Alma loved Jesus, the Texas Rangers, flowers, working crossword puzzles, slot machines, and horse racing. She was all about her family, 100 percent family oriented.
Nadine is preceded in death by her parents; husband Dean Forrest January 18, 2002; son Jerry Dean Forrest May 25, 1994; infant daughter Wanda June Forrest; two brothers James Leslie and Billy Wayne Head.
Survivors include her daughter Sharron Harris and husband David of Eagle Nest, New Mexico; her son Robert Leslie Forrest Sr. and wife Janet of Borger; two sisters Gloria Robbins of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and Barbara Hudson of Borger; grandchildren Vicki Wade, and Ginny Forrest both of Albuquerque, Bobby Forrest and wife Elizabeth of Borger, Jeff Forrest and wife Carol of Morse, Brad Zeka of Waller, Jay Forrest of Iowa Park, Christie Munoz, Sarah Forrest, and Jason Forrest both of Amarillo, Justin Forrest of Sanford, Michael Harris and wife Sheena of Stinnett, Matthew Harris and wife Michelle of Borger, James Wall of San Antonio; 15 great-grandchildren, numerous great-great grandchildren, and several loving nieces and nephews.
