Miller, Hardy Masters (Topsy) – Born in Ranger, Texas in 1919 to Etta Hardy Masters and Charley Masters. Died 11/13/19. Married Charles Christian Miller of New Orleans, La. in 1953. Grew up in small west Texas town of Sparenberg. Graduated from Portales, New Mexico High School in 1935. Attended Eastern New Mexico Jr. College. Received B.S. & M.S Degrees in mathematics from Texas Tech University in 1939 and 1941 and was a Member of Kappa Mu Epsilon Fraternity.

Taught High School mathematics in Paducah, Texas for one year and moved to Dallas, Texas where she worked in the Weight & Balance Department at North American Aviation during World War II. After the war she moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico and worked at the Sandia Proving Grounds for the U.S. government. Returned to Dallas, Texas and worked at Atlantic Refining Co. as a geophysicist.

After retiring from ARCO she was interested in local, state and national politics. She and her husband enjoyed national and international travel while traveling extensively to all 50 states and six continents. They also enjoyed playing bridge, exercise and several beloved canine companions. She was interested in genealogy and was also an avid gardener and seamstress. Volunteered with Operation Lift in Hampton Park and U.S.O. at Love Field.

She is preceded in death by her husband and parents and is survived by a number of dear cousins and friends, nephews Mel and Rick Erickson of Pennsylvania and Betty Lacey of Florida. Cousins Vanda Ozment and Carla Percival Young of Texas.
