MATSON, WILLIAM Owner and operator of Painting by Bill, was born January 31, 1933 in Xenia, Ohio and passed away on August 18, 2007 in Dallas, Texas. Survived by his wife, Rose Matson; children, Jon A. Matson and wife Denise, Jill Abell and husband Donnie, Jane Zimmer and husband Dean, Nancy Padgett and husband Winfield and Thom Greer and wife Deb Lambert; brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Eve Matson; sister and brother-in-law, Patty and Bob Chapman; sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Russell Newton; sister, Betty Jones; sisters-in-law, Pat Matson and Magil Matson; grandchildren, Dillon, Zhon, Ashley, Beau, Lauren Padgett, Alicia Greer and Tony Greer; great granddaughter, Taylor Rothery. Visitation 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home. Funeral service 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at Sparkman/Hillcrest Northwest Hwy. Chapel. Born in Dayton, Ohio on Sept.30, 1926 and passed away on April 25, 2013. Rose was a professional seamstress making custom draperies and has lived in Dallas, Texas since 1982. She was survived by her daughter Nancy Padgett, her husband Winfield and their daughter Lauren; her son Thom Greer, his children Alicia Rothery, Tony Greer and their children. She was predeceased by her husband William and his surviving children and grandchildren. Her surviving siblings Mary Johnson, Delores Petry, and Kenny Smith and their spouses still reside in Ohio. Rose will be greatly missed for her many talents, her laughter, kindness and compassion to her many friends, family and clients. The family will receive visitors at Sparkman Hillcrest Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. A service celebrating Rose’s life will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 2, 2013 at Sparkman Hillcrest.
