GROH, KATHLEEN, On October 23, 2007, Kathleen Tamplin Groh passed away peacefully. Kathleen was born on December 4, 1949 at Ft. Monmouth New Jersey. As the daughter of an army officer, Kathleen moved often all over the United States as well as China and Taiwan. Her family eventually settled in Flagstaff Arizona where she attended Flagstaff West High School graduating in 1968. Shortly after her high school graduation, she met and married her husband of 32 years, Allen R. Groh who preceded her in death. Kathleen and her husband lived in several states in the U.S. and also spent two years in Holland. Kathleens fondest memories and moments are in raising her 4 children. Her children agree that she provided them with a magical childhood. She was a wonderful mother and a world traveler. She strived to better herself for the sake of her family. She graduated Suma Cum Laude from the University of Texas at Dallas at the age of 49 only to encourage her children to do the same. She was very active in her church and various charities. She had a large network of friends and was well loved by all. Kathleen is survived by her parents Jack D. and Gloria M. Tamplin; Sister Jeanne Tamplin-Bakalyar; two nephews; one great nephew; Her half sister, Peggy Browning; Her children Angela (husband Scott) Floyd, Jocelyn (husband Joshua) Ashley, Aron (wife Liliana) Groh; Jacob Groh; and five grand children. The rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM, Wednesday, October 31st at Sparkman/Hillcrest Northwest Highway Chapel. Funeral Mass at 11AM, Thursday, November 1st at St. Monica Catholic Church, 9933 Midway Road, Dallas, TX 75220. Interment to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
