Herndon, Evelyn Robertson Evelyn Herndon was born in Dallas on February 26, 1913, lived in Dallas all of her life and was graduated with honors from the University of Texas at Austin. She died on August 22,2014. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Rossie R. Jones, Mary Katherine Ray and brother M. Wayne Robertson, her husband of 45 years, Dr. James H. Herndon and grandson James Tatton. She is survived by her four children and their spouses (James and Miriam Herndon, Gayle and Robert Allison, Carol and Robert Lindholm and Ann and John Tatton) together with twelve grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was a long time member of the University Park Methodist Church, the Dallas Country Club and The Dallas Woman's Club. Visitation will be on Friday, August 29, from 5-7, at Sparkman Hillcrest Funeral Home. A family service celebrating Evelyn's life will be on Saturday, August 30, at the University Park Methodist Church, 4024 Caruth Boulevard, after burial at Sparkman Hillcrest. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in her name to the Visiting Nurse Association, Office of the President, 1600 Viceroy Drive, Ste 400, Dallas, TX 75235, or the charity of your choice.
