LADEWIG, BERNIECE (BETTY) 89, passed away September 18, 2006. She was born in Drexel, Missouri on June 25, 1918 to R.E. and Bernice George. They came to the Rio Grande Valley the last week of December 1929. She attended school at North Palm Garden and graduated from Weslaco High School in 1935. After attending Texas State College for Women in Denton and finishing at Texas A&I in Kingsville, Texas she was married on September 3, 1939 to Larry L. Ladewig in Mercedes, Texas. They lived in Houston until 1950 when they moved to Dallas to begin their own business working side by side for many years. A member of University Park United Methodist Church since 1952 she actively attended the Mr. and Mrs. Class. She loved to travel and did explore the world. She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Larry L. Ladewig; parents, R.E. and Bernice George; beloved sister, Marion G. Moyer; and daughter-in-law, Jane Dick Ladewig. She is survived by sons, Philip Lane Ladewig and Paula, Donald Glen Ladewig and Sandy; grandsons, Philip Lane Ladewig, Jr. and Laura, Glenn Lawrence Ladewig, Jason Bennett Ladewig and Tina, and Brian Spencer Ladewig; great-granddaughters, Abigail Jane and Paige Margaret Ladewig; nephew, Robert Lee Moyer. Thanks go to special angels Marcia, Denita, and Lois at Presbyterian Village, and the special caregivers from Vitas, Tammy, Ellen, Lisa and Amanda. Visitation at Sparkman/Hillcrest Thursday, September 21, 6-8 PM. Graveside service 11:00 AM, Friday, September 22, 2006 at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Thomas Q. Robbins will officiate. Serving as pallbearers will be Philip Lane Ladewig, Jr., Glenn Lawrence Ladewig, Jason Bennett Ladewig, Brian Spencer Ladewig, Thomas Wainscott, Jack Irwin and John Colwick.
