WOOD, , ROBENA ASHBURN Passed away peacefully October 26, 2005. Robena was born November 17, 1917, in Emory, TX. After the loss of both her parents at an early age, her grandparents, Judge and Mrs. Benjamin Franklin Looney, raised her. She graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School and attended Hollins College and Southern Methodist University. Robena was married for fifty-nine years to the love of her life, Dick Pender Wood, and they traveled the world together. She was a member of Dallas Woman's Club, Mary K. Craig Class, Dallas Garden Club, fifty-year member of Kappa Alpha Theta, had served as President of Dallas Lawyers' Wives Club, and was a member of Park Cities Baptist Church. Her sons and daughters-in-law survive her: Dick and Claire Wood, Frank and Sherri Wood, and Bob and Pat Wood. Her grandchildren are Tripp and Dana Wood, Carter and Rachel Wood, Hunter Wood, Frank and Amy Wood, Margaret and Mark Devine, Grant and Kay Wood, Sandy Wood, Patrick and Ross Hardage. Her great-grandchildren are Braden, Hudson, Chaney, Jackson and Blake Wood. Her husband, Dick P. Wood, Sr., and her brother, Dr. Frank S. Ashburn, Sr. preceded her in death. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 27, 2005, at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, Oct. 28, 2005, at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Rev. Roy H. Harrell officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to Alzheimer's Association, Greater Dallas Chapter, 7610 N. Stemmons, Suite 600, Dallas, TX 75247; Visiting Nurses/Meals-on-Wheels, 1440 W.
