BRACK, Elaine Blair Elaine Blair Brack, 91, of San Antonio and Dallas was taken to be by her late husband, of sixty one years, John Ray Brack's side on 11/13/2014. Elaine was born in Hillsboro, Texas on April 6, 1923 but she grew up in Mexia, TX with her parents Jimmy and Ebba Blair and Betty her sister. She graduated from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. Elaine was very active in the community wherever she lived. She served as President of Travis Elementary PTA, City Council PTA, Children's Service League, Women of the Church (Trinity Episcopal), Secretary Midland Symphony Board, Board of Midland Youth Center, Board of Junior Great Books. And if that weren't enough she was also a Cub Scout Den Mother and Scoutmaster senior Girls Scout Troop. In 1964 the family moved to Calgary Alberta Canada where they lived for several years. Again Elaine was quite active, albeit for a short period of time, as Vice President of the Women of the Church at the Christ Church of Calgary and member of the Calgary Symphony League. She also introduced Calgary to ice tea. Texas style ice tea!!! In 1968 the family moved to Dallas. Elaine was the administrative assistant to the dean of the SMU Institute of Urban Studies in the Department of Economics where she retired 1983. She was also a long-time volunteer with Meals on Wheels, North Texas Taping for the Blind and the Presbyterian Hospital. She was also a member in very good standing with the Profitears of Dallas, an investment club. Elaine is survived by her children David Brack, Nancy Leming both from San Antonio and Ken Brack and his wife Suzanne Miller Brack from Dallas. Her grandchildren Jennifer B. Espinola and her husband Wayne Espinola. Kevin and Tala Ramzi Brack, Major Johnathan and Kate Leming, Marcus Leming and Lena Carpenter Leming and Emily and Staff Sgt (SSG) David Howard. She also has 6 great grand-children - Mary, Michael and Elizabeth Leming. Luca and Olivia Brack and Liam Howard. Services are pending. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to the Dallas Meals on Wheels or the American Cancer Society.
