Dr. Dan E. Hampton Sr., 65, died at 1:45 a.m. today in the Texhoma Medical Center in Denison.
Dr. Hampton practiced in Borger from 1946 to 1964 when he moved to Temple. There, he worked at the Veteran's Administration Hospital until 1976 when he retired.
He was residing in Sherman at the time of his death.
Dr. Hampton was a member of the West Sherman Baptist Church and was veteran of World War II.
He attended Baylor University and graduated from Baylor Medical School in 1938.
Surviving are his wife, Clara; three sons, Hubert Harris Hampton of Canyon, Dan E. Hampton Jr. of Sherman, John Robert Hampton of Gilroy, Calif.; a daughter, Miss Dana Eleene Hampton, a student at Texas Tech University in Lubbock; a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Wiggin of Lubbock; and eight grandchildren.
Services are pending Ed Brown & Sons.
