*Obituary
Sheryl Brody beloved wife of Robert and devoted mother of Greer, peacefully passed away, surrounded by loved ones on September 16, 2009. Sheryl was born on March 28th, 1960 to Lori and Don Oginsky and grew up a loving big sister to her younger brother Jay. She attended W. T. White High School in North Dallas and went on to earn her Bachelors degree from the school of Radio, Television and Film at the University of Texas in Austin. Sheryl married her soul mate, the love of her life, Robert in 1983. In the early 80s, Sheryl's career path brought her first to Katz TV and then on to the prestigious ad agency J Walter Thompson where she worked as a media buyer for over 20 years. In 2000 and 2001, Sheryl was honored by the organization, American Women in Radio and Television with an "Award of Excellence". Accolades notwithstanding, Sheryl's proudest accomplishment was that of mother to her daughter Greer, now a junior at the University of Arizona. Sheryl will be remembered for many things, her love of cooking and entertaining, her immaculate sense of style and her gracious, warm demeanor to all she encountered. A loyal and loving friend, Sheryl will be remembered for her beautiful smile and lovely spirit. While her life was all too brief, it was marked by an amazing marriage, a rich family life and the deepest of friendships. Those of us with heavy hearts today will find great solace in that. Services will take place at Sparkman/Hillcrest on Friday September 18th at 10am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the National Lung Cancer Partnership and the Lung Cancer Research programs at MD Anderson and UT Southwestern.
