Stollon, Rita Stollon, Rita Bickel, passed away suddenly and peacefully in her home on Sunday, Aug. 15. She was 81 years old. Rita was born in Vienna, Austria on April 9, 1929 and moved to New York with her parents after Kristallnacht in 1938. She made her life in the Bronx and later Queens, New York, marrying her loving husband Arthur Stollon in 1949, and raising their sons, Neal and Kenneth. Rita was long time manager of Jerome Health Foods, her family's business. Rita moved to Dallas in 1996 and was very active and beloved in her community, her synagogue, Tiferit Israel, and at the Jewish Community Center, where she served as a board member and was an active volunteer. She is survived by her sons, Neal and Ken, her daughters-in-law, Marcy and Faye, and her grandchildren, Courtney, Nadavia, Naomi, Ezra, and Eric, all of whom were the light of her life. She was preceded in passing to the hereafter by her husband Arthur, her parents, Bernard and Clara Bickel, and her brother Benno. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday August 17, 2010, at 12:00 p.m. in Northwest Hwy.Chapel of Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home. Rita will be deeply missed by all that knew her.
