BORGER - Joyce Y. Haynes, 79, died Friday, April 23, 2010.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church Chapel with the Rev. Leonard Forsythe, pastor of Bible Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park by Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Mrs. Haynes was born in Quitaque to Emmett and Ethel Shelton. She had lived in Borger since 1944 and was a 1948 graduate of Borger High School. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, and she loved her dogs.
Joyce married W.C. Buddy Haynes on March 31, 1947, in Clovis, N.M.
She was preceded in death by two sisters; a brother; and a great-grandson, Derrick Humphrey.
Survivors include her husband of more than 63 years, W.C. Buddy Haynes; a daughter, Carmen Shopteese of Borger; three grandchildren, Eric Shopteese and wife Leigh, Brandon Shopteese and wife Misty and Amber Shopteese Humphrey and husband Eric; and six great-grandchildren, Chase, Alex, Star, Tyler, Shylah and Stormy.
