Margaret Rose Howard, 86, of Amarillo died Sunday, May 1, 2011.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia St., with Dr. Winfred Moore, pastor emeritus of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be 1:30 p.m. in Westlawn Cemetery in Borger.

Margaret was born Oct. 10, 1924, in Avant, Okla., to Charles Samuel Hansard and Gladys Pearson Hansard.

She worked at Phillips Petroleum Plant Medical Center as a registered nurse and retired from BSA as a RN. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Amarillo.

She was preceded in death by her husband, H.A. Howard; her parents, Charles Samuel Hansard and Gladys Hansard; two brothers, Eugene and John Hansard; and two sisters, Patricia Atkins and Ruth Hutson.

Survivors include a sister, Barbara Cribbs and husband Jimmy of Clayton, Wash.; a sister-in-law, Kathryn Hansard Meridian; eight nieces; and a nephew.

The family suggest memorials be to First Baptist Church, 1208 Tyler St., Amarillo, TX 79101; or BSA Hospice, P.O. Box 950, Amarillo, TX 79105.
