Obituary for Joe
Dr. Joe C. Krejci, 80, Borger, died Friday, Aug. 23, 1991 in Borger.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Brown's Chapel of the Fountains.

Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery by Ed Brown & Sons Funeral Directors.

A native of Galveston, he had been an area resident for 47 years. He was a retired chemical engineering associate and manager of Pyrolsis section at the Phillips Carbon Black Research facility in Borger before his retirement in 1971 after 34 years service.

Dr. Krejci was a graduate of the University of Texas, holding a bachelor of science, master's of science and Ph.D. degrees in chemical engineering. He earned the highest honor by receiving the 1974 Charles Goodyear Medal of the American Chemical Society's Division of Rubber Chemistry.

He was selected for the honor for his valuable contributions to the science and technology of rubber and related products. He was the inventor of 31 United States patents in the carbon black fields, many of these also being patented outside the United States. He revolutionized the manufacture of carbon balck [sic], which proved to be a big aid in World War II.

He was a member of Tau Beta Pi, Sigma Xi, Phi Lambda Upsilon and Phi Eta Sigma professional fraternities.

He married Fay Deen Yarbro Jan. 29, 1938 in Mineral Wells.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Fay Deen Doyen of Los Angeles, Calif.; and Mary Joe Mahan of Houston; three sisters, Tillie Helcamp and Viola Cox, both of Houston; and Alice Braikovich of Woodlands; and three grandchildren.

Obituary for Fay
BORGER - Fay Deen Yarbro Krejci, 88, died Saturday, March 6, 1999.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Brown Funeral Directors Chapel of the Fountains with the Rev. David Purl, pastor of St. Andrew United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery.

Mrs. Krejci was born in Graford and had been a Borger resident for 55 years. She received a bachelor of art degree from Texas Woman's University and attended the University of Texas. She was a homemaker and a member of the Paragon Club, United Daughters of the Confederacy and Borger Music Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe C. Krejci, in 1991.

Survivors include two daughters, Fay Deen Doyen of Los Angeles and Mary Joe Mahan of Houston; two sisters, Dorothy Luke of Arlington and Kathereen McFarland of Houston; and three grandchildren.

The family requests memorials be to Cal Farley's Boys Ranch and Affiliates, P.O. Box 1890, Amarillo, TX 79174.
