November 12, 1916 - October 25, 2018

Adolph Martin Kube, 101 died on October 25, 2018 in Amarillo. Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Trinity Lutheran Church 212 W. Jefferson St. in Borger, TX with Pastor Tom Lapacka officiating. Burial will follow at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Ludwig was born November 12, 1916 in Lexington, TX to William Kube and Marie Helms Kube. The Kube family moved to Lariat, TX in 1925. Ludwig attended Texas Tech College where he received a BS degree in Industrial Engineering in 1942. He immediately went to work for Phillips Petroleum Co. as a Process Engineer. He was married to Aliene LaVerne May on August 22, 1942. During his career he advanced to Panhandle Region Manager of the Exploration and Production Department where he retired after forty years.

Ludwig was active in many areas of community service. He was president of the Phillips School Board and after moving to Borger, was president of Crockett PTA. He was a member of the University Foundation Board of Texas Tech University, and the Academy of Industrial Engineers. Texas Tech awarded him Distinguished Engineer in 1965. In the Boy Scouts of America organization he was vice president of the Adobe Walls District and achieved the Silver Beaver award. He was a member of the Borger Rotary Club for many years and has served as chairman of the Hutchinson County United Way. He was active in the Trinity Lutheran Church in Borger.

Ludwig enjoyed woodworking, photography and gardening. He and Aliene vacationed in all 50 states and in 65 countries on six continents. He loved family gatherings and enjoyed playing "42" dominoes. He was much loved and lived a long, active and Godly life.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years Aliene, his parents, five brothers and three sisters.

He is survived by his two daughters LaVerne Jolly and her husband Bill of Fritch and Mary Messenger and the late Kenneth Messenger of Amarillo and one son Kenneth Kube of Lakeside, Arizona; nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren two step great grandchildren, four step great great grandchildren and other beloved extended family.

Memorials may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church or the Salvation Army in his memory.

BORGER - Aliene LaVerne Kube, 85, died Tuesday, May 10, 2005, in Amarillo.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday in Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. Steven Misch, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park by Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors.

Mrs. Kube was born July 10, 1919, in Westbrook. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, A.M.L.; a son, Kenneth Kube of Lakeside, Ariz.; two daughters, LaVerne Jolly of Fritch and Mary Messenger of Amarillo; a brother, Bill May; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to Trinity Lutheran Church for good samaritan homes, 212 W. Jefferson St., Borger, TX 79007.
