Obituary
Funeral services for Henry Giesbrecht, age 66 of Seminole, Texas will be held Saturday, February 6, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Evangelical Mennonite Church with Pastor Isaak Fehr and Pastor Abe Bulher assisting. Burial will follow at Gaines County Cemetery. All services are under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home. The church will allow a limited number of attendees inside for the funeral service, and it is suggested that a mask be worn and social distancing practiced, in keeping with CDC guidelines.
Mr. Giesbrecht was born in Mexico on January 15, 1955 to Aganetha (Harder) and Abram Giesbrecht. He married Helen Klassen in Mexico on June 15, 1975. He worked in irrigation for 27 years and was a member of Sommerfeld Mennonite Church. Henry enjoyed singing with his grandchildren and reading the bible. In August 2016 Henry went on a men’s trip where his eyes were opened to God’s truth. This trip changed his and his entire family’s lives, and he has since spent the last four years being a light and encouragement to everyone he encountered, leaving a legacy of faith that will never be forgotten.
Henry Giesbrecht passed away at Seminole Memorial Hospital in Seminole on Tuesday, February 2, 2021. He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister. He is survived by his wife Helen Giesbrecht of Seminole; three sons, Henry Giesbrecht and wife Nancy, Jake Giesbrecht and wife Irma, and David Giesbriecht and wife Annie, all of Seminole; one daughter, Tina Friesen and husband Abe of Seminole; five brothers, Abram Giesbrecht and wife Margaret, Jacob Giesbrecht and wife Lisa, Peter Giesbrecht and wife Susan, David Giesbrecht and wife Tina, and Isaak Giesbrecht and wife Nettie, all of Canada, and Bernhard Giesbrecht and wife Annie of Seminole; four sisters, Maria Dyck and husband Jacob, Gertruda Welk and husband Peter, and Margaretha Baltz and husband Peter, all of Canada, and Aganetha Wall and husband Isaak of Mexico; and 15 grandchildren.
