Borger News Herald - April 4, 1990

Lisbon McCown, 91, Borger, died at 4:45 p.m. Tuesday, 1990, in Golden Plains Community Hospital.

Services are pending with Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

A native of Tarrant County, Texas, he had been a Borger resident for 46 years.

Mr. McCown was a retired operator for Phillips Petroleum Company. He was a member of Franklin Street Church of God.

He was preceded in death by a son, Donald Ray McCown in 1975.

Survivors include his wife, Bulah of the home; two sons, Charles McCown of DeSoto; Lisbon McCown, Jr., Amarillo; one step-son Jack Kile of Orlando, Fla.; two daughters, Meredith Ganious of California; and Gail Fenton of Snyder; three step-daughters, Eulema Baker of Amarillo, Joyce Lucky of Tampa, Fla.; and Carolyn Mercer of Miami, Texas; 28 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great-grandchildren.

Services for Lisbon McCown, 91, Borger, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Franklin Street Church of God with the Rev. L.K. Lawley, pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery by Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors.

LANCASTER - Bulah May McCown, 93, died Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2003.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Church of God in Borger with the Rev. Buck Lawley, pastor of Perryton Church of God, officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park by Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Mrs. McCown was born April 23, 1910, in Pecos. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include two sons, Jack Kile of Leesburg, Ga., and Charles McCown of Desoto; three daughters, Eulema Baker of Amarillo, Joyce Lucky of Land-O-Lakes, Fla., and Carolyn Mercer of McAllen; a brother, Woodrow Darter of Farmers Branch; 17 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great-grandchildren.
