*Obituary
Services for Samuel Eugene Morris, 78, of 619 Austin, will be at p.m. Saturday in the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Lyman Wood, pastor, officiating.
Interment will be in Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Mortuary.
Mr. Morris died at 2 p.m. Thursday. He was born in Opal, Ark., May 26, 1898.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, a past member of Borger Rotary Club, and was a Shriner.
He was a 1922 graduate of Oklahoma University School of Pharmacy and came to Borger in 1947 and operated the Borger Drug. He also owned and operated three drug stores in Amarillo.
He was associated in the motel business at the time of his death in partnership with his son, Gene, in the Villa Motel of Borger.
Mr. Morris and Pearl McCasland were married Dec. 31, 1924 and had celebrated their 50th anniversary in 1974.
Survivors in addition to his wife are one son, Gene of Borger; one daughter, Mrs. Melba Colleen Hamilton of Borger; one sister, Mrs. Roxie Hughes of Mena, Ark.; and seven grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Gene Schneider, Robert Wilson, William Davis Hamilton, Mike Morris, Sammy Morris, and Scott Pullen.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ralph Johnson, Jeff Wilson, Burl Lloyd, Homer Gibson, Earnest Hooper, Slim Harrell, Jess Sammons, and F.W. Ansley.
