*Obituary

Lodema Garnett Dobson was born Feb. 3, 1922 to Bill and Winnie Garnett in Tahoka. She was the oldest of eight children and helped raise her siblings, earning the affectionate term of "Sister". She graduated from Whitharral High School in 1940 and went on to Abilene Christian College for one year. She met, was courted by, and married Thurman Dobson Jan. 30, 1942 in Whitharral.

Lodema and Thurman were happily married for 63 years, separated only briefly for three years during World War II. Lodema was a charter member of Cactus Drive Church of Christ, where she was an active and respected participant in church activities, again earning the affectionate term of "Sister". She was a revered advisor and confidant to her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, spouses, siblings and friends.

Lodema lost her seven-year battle with ovarian cancer Tuesday, July 19, at the age of 83, and has gone to her heavenly home to collect the treasures she has stored in Heaven during her life of Christian service to her beloved Savior.

She was preceded in death and reunited with her father, Bill Garnett; mother, Winnie Garnett; sister, Cressie Hairston; grandson, Randall Dobson; and granddaughter, Bryton Dobson.
