GALVESTON - Roxie Mae (Mrs. T.H.) Townsend, 90, of Galveston, passed away Friday, November 19,1999, at Mainland Center Hospital in Texas City. Funeral services will be 10:00 am Monday,November 22,1999, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home with the Reverend Jim O. Bauman officiating. Burial will follow the service at Grace Memorial Park in Alta Loma. Visitation will be Sunday, November 21, 1999, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Malloy & Son Funeral Home.

Roxie was born January 14, 1909, in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. She was a resident of Galveston since 1928, and a member of Central United Methodist Church since 1935.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Tom H. Townsend, past president of the Galveston ILA

Roxie is survived by her son, Tommy Townsend and his wife, Catharine Conlon Townsend, of Galveston; sister, Edna Williams, of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma; two and Donna Gillam; four greatgrandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be F.E. Townsend, W.B. Hatman, J.E. Townsend, J. Davis, Joe Slovak and J.W. Rice.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Greater Houston Chapter, 6161 Savoy Drive, Suite 240, Houston, Texas 77036, or to the Kidney Foundation.
