Mrs. Carpenter Dies Thursday
Funeral services for Mrs. J. A. Carpenter, 85, were held at the Bob Riley Funeral Chapel in Hamilton at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 14, Elder Len Dalton officiated.
Burial was in the Graves Gentry Cemetery in Hamilton.
Mrs. Carpenter died in the Hamilton County General Hospital, Thursday, February 12, 1970. She broke a hip in December and has been in a declining state of health, since that time.
Mrs. Carpenter's maiden name was Coral Bullen. She was born in Hamilton March 24, 1884, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Bullen. Her father was Hamilton County tax collector for many years. The decedent's maternal grandparents were William Hillyard Doggett and Sarah Elizabeth Moore Doggett
, were among the county's earliest settlers.
Mrs. Carpenter was a lifetime member of First Christian Church in Hamilton. She married Mr. Carpenter here June 1, 1910. They have lived here since that time.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Inverness Redin of Lovington, New Mexico; and a brother, Eugene Bullen of Abilene.
Pallbearers were Robert Williams, Ruel Lock, Addis Emmett, Laverne Patterson, Hogue Williams, and Main Brunk
