*Obituary
Lowenthal, Sidney Sidney Lowenthal passed away peacefully at home on July 11, 2009 after a long illness. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 63 years, Myrna Lowenthal, his children Lon Lowenthal and wife Jerri Heppel, Lindsay Lowenthal, Lauren Lowenthal Gerard and husband Clay Gerard and his beloved grandchildren Ryan and Olivia Gerard, who were his pride and joy. Sidney was born in New York City on July 4, 1924. His wife Myrna was truly the love of his life having met him at the age of 13. They married in 1946 after his service in WWII and lived in New York until moving his family to Dallas in 1969. He spent 30 plus years with the Hasbro Toy Company managing sales for the Southeast and Southwest regions. He took pride in his salesmen who worked for Sid many years and who were like family to him. Two of Sid's greatest passions in life were golf and fishing and both he and Myrna traveled extensively in pursuit of playing great courses and going on deep sea fishing excursions. He was an amazing storyteller with an unbelievable sense of humor. He was the life of any gathering always telling jokes and always getting the laughs. He will forever be remembered for his quick wit. The family would like to express deepest thanks to Doris who was his caregiver for the past two years as well as to the hospice staff at Goodwin. Graveside funeral services will be held Monday July, 13 at Sparkman Hillcrest at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity.
