*Obituary

June Latimer Chasens passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 94 on September 6, 2019 in Dallas, Texas after a brief illness at her home of the last five years, Highland Springs. June was born outside of Waco in Mt. Calm, Texas on May 27, 1925 to Irwin and Leslie Latimer. She was still living on their farm when she met Joseph Max Chasens, to whom she was married for fifty years. After completing his Army Air Corp. enlistment, they lived briefly in New Jersey before moving to Dallas in 1946. Together, June and Joe were one of the original tenants of the Apparel Mart when it opened in 1964 and had showrooms there until 1991. They were also life members of Brookhaven Country Club where they spent countless hours on the golf course together and with their many good friends. June was always a tireless volunteer, whether it was PTA or the Byron Nelson Golf Tournament as the eventual women's volunteer chair. She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Chasens and sister Treyonne Clark. June is survived by her daughter Jill Chasens, son-in-law Mike Moss, daughter Jeanne Sanders, and grandchildren Amy Kerber, Lauren Sanders, Elissa Moss, and Aaron Moss and three great-grandchildren. Graveside services to be held September 8, 2019 at 11:30am at Hillcrest Memorial Park on NW Highway.
