May 4, 1933 - October 11, 2019

Alta Mae Scott, 86, passed away October 11, 2019 in the Wheeler Nursing Home. Cremation arrangements were made with Robertson Funeral Home in Wheeler, TX.

Alta was born on May 4, 1933 in Kelton, TX to Thomas Jefferson Austin and Emma Cora Beaty.

Alta grew up in Kelton, TX on her parents’ farm. She had married John Thomas Scott on September 21, 1947. She had worked for Cooper’s Western Wear and Bob’s Western Wear in Borger, TX.

Alta was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Juanita Kenney, Dealva Miller, and Alice Lister.

She is survived by sons, Dr. Johnie Scott of Vernon, TX; James Scott of Borger, TX; Alton Scott of Borger, TX; Jerry Scott of Valier, Mont; a daughter Ramona Alders of Borger, TX, a brother Boyd Austin of Pampa, TX, 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Alta will be missed. Her character was always cheerful and never complained what life dealt her. She loved her family with a passion. She will be missed by many for a long time.
