James "Jimmy" Calbert Smith
October 2, 1925 - November 9, 2017
James C. ''Jimmy'' Smith, 92, passed away Thursday, November 9, 2017.
Graveside services will be held 10 am on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at Westlawn Memorial Park with Rev. Les Sharp officiating. Services are under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Jimmy was born October 2, 1925 in Cedar Vale, Kansas to Mattie A. Smith and Lee Dorothy Meyers Smith. He married Dorene Carter on January 17, 1948 in Cedar Vale, Kansas. Jimmy proudly served in the United States Navy. He loved car racing, wood working, bowling and cooking on the grill. Jimmy was a member of the Mason Lodge.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dorene Carter Smith in May of 1994; and brothers, Max and Neal Smith.
Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews.

Dorene C. Smith, 68, Borger, died at 2:50 a.m. Friday, May 20, 1994 in St. Anthony's Hospital in Amarillo.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Minton Chapel with the Rev. Leonard Forsythe, pastor Bible Baptist Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery by Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
A native of Genola [sic], Kan., she had been a Borger resident for 46 years. She was retired from Panhandle Bank & Trust proof department. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Cedar Vale, Kan. She helped organize the Borger Arts and Crafts.
She married James Smith Jan. 17, 1948 in Cedar Vale, Kan.
Survivors inlcude [sic] her husband of the home; a brother, Frank Carter of Kansas; seven sisters, Alene Radcliff of Arkansas City, Kan.; Ruth Jellison of Howard Kan.; Beulah Walker of Butler, Mo.; Bessie M. Eaton of Fritch; Barbara Eisenbach, Alma Ross, and Sadie Nevitt, all of Osage City, Kan.; and several nieces and nephews.
The family requests memorials be made to the American Heart Association.
The family will be staying at 1212 Cooley.
