MRS. CAVE, ROTAN, DIES
Rotan, April 17 - Mrs. E. C. Cave, 85, Rotan ranchwoman, died in Callan Hospital here at 5:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Born Laura Ann Mardis in Meridian, Miss., Aug. 22, 1870, she came to Fisher County in 1907, from Mississippi with an uncle, the late Jim Mardis. In June of 1910, she was married here to Mr. Cave. He died July 4, 1954.
Funeral will be held in the First Baptist Church in Roby Thursday at 2:30 p.m. Officiating will be Dr. Lawrence Hayes, pastor of the Rotan First Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Roby Cemetery, directed by Weathersbee Funeral Home of Rotan.
Nephews will be pallbearers. They are O. B. Cave, Dale Cave, James Cave, Jim Cave, J. C. Cave, Haldean Cave, Bobby Cave, Ted Cave, Winfred Cave, and Willie Barron.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
She and Mr. Cave raised three children in their home, Jack Thompson of Odessa, Mrs. Jim Mardis of Sweetwater, and Jackie Thompson of Roby.
