FRITCH — Virginia Snyder, 87, died Thursday, Aug. 4, 2011, in Amarillo.

Graveside services were at 4 p.m. Friday in The Field of Honor at Westlawn Memorial Park with the Rev. Calvin Winters, pastor of First Southern Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements were by Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors.

Virginia was born Nov. 4, 1923, in Earlsboro, Okla., and was a devoted mother and wife, living in Fritch until the death of her husband in 1987. She then resided in Amarillo for the rest of her life, and was a member of Bell Avenue Baptist Church in Amarillo for several years.

She married John Snyder on Aug. 15, 1943, in Alanreed. She was a homemaker and loved needlework and embroidering.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Snyder; her parents, George and Lorene Odell; a sister, Mary Nell; and a brother, George Jr.

Survivors include a son, Robert Snyder of Amarillo; three daughters, Loretta Roulier of Savannah, Ga., Martha Barton of Amarillo and Glorianna Keener of Loveland, Colo.; a sister, Carolyn A. Morse of Montana; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
