MRS. MARY PHIPPS BURIED LITTLE RIVER
Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Phipps, 77, died at 8 p. m. Wednesday June 28 at the family residence at Maysfield.
Mrs. Phipps was a native of Georgia born July 22, 1871 and had been a resident of Milam County for 26 years. She had made her home in this county since the family settled here and during most of this time has lived in the Maysfield community. She had been ill for a long period of time and during the past few weeks her condition became more critical.
Funeral services were to be held at 4 p. m. Thursday June 29 from the Little River Baptist Church by Rev. Bennett Scott, pastor of the Maysfield Methodist Church, assisted by Rev. Stanley Ray, pastor of the Little River Baptist Church. Interment was made in Little River cemetery with Green Funeral Home directing the arrangements. She was a life long member of the Methodist Church.
Survivors are as follows: five sons; Richard Phipps, William Phipps, Floyd Phipps, Clap Phipps and J. B. Phipps all of Cameron. Four daughters; Mrs. Roy Weems, Mrs. Milton Weems, Mrs. Bill Thweatt of Cameron and Mrs. Jessie Newton of Velasco. Two sisters;Mrs. Georgia Cotton of Sterling City, Texas and Mrs. Fanny Smith of Graham, Texas.
The body will remain at the family residence until the funeral hour.
