Rotan- Frances Carol Neeley, 72, died Tuesday, April 5, 2005, in Abilene. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, April 7, 2005 at First Baptist Church in Rotan, TX. with Brother Corkey Wells and Brother Werth Mayes officiating. Burial will be in Belvieu Cemetery directed by Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home.
Born July 31, 1932 in Rotan, TX, Frances was the daughter of the late Horace Wayne and Louise (Frazier) Nowlin. Frances was a lifelong resident of Rotan. She married Archie Joe Neeley on August 11, 1950 in th same house in which she was born. Frances was a homemaker and very active in different organizations like DAR, Fisher County Historical Society, Belvieu Cemetery Association and the Rotan Fire Department Ladies Auxillary for fifty years. Frances loved her computer and surfing the internet. She also enjoyed sewing, fishing, keeping the nursery at church, and going to Wal-Mart. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Rotan. Frances is preceded in death by her husband in 1995, a son, Joe Wayne Neeley, one granddaughter, Heidi Neeley, and one brother, Stanley Nowlin.
Survivors include; one son, Robert Darrell Neeley of Abilene; one daughter and son in law, Barbara and Roger Jones of Leuders; one brother and sister in law, Jim and Ragg Mopp Nowlin of Rotan; one daughter in law, Evelyn Nowlin of Rotan; four grandchildern, Brady Jones, Clay Jones, Jenna Jones and Nick Neeley; numerous nieces and nephews whom she considered grandchildren.
