Borger News Herald - May 27, 1987

Eulin G. Stevens, 92, of 1303 Davis Drive, died Wednesday in High Plains Baptist Hospital in Amarillo.

A warehouse supervisor at Phillips, he was a native of Franklin County, Arkansas, and a Borger resident since 1929.

He was a member of York Rite, Lodge 38 in Norman, Okla. and Scottish Rite. He retired from Phillips in 1959.

He married the former Jewell Dillard in Caddo, Okla. on June 9, 1913. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jewell, in 1986, and his son, Dow Stevens, also in 1986.

He is survived by six sons, James Stevens of Albuquerque, N.M., William Stevens of Borger, Grover Stevens of Lubbock, John Stevens of Borger, Garland Stevens of Norman, Okla.; two daughters, Nadine Parker of Houston, Mary Ellen Evans of Lancaster, Calif.; 24 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Funeral services are pending with Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors.

Jewell L. Stevens, 90, of 1303 Davis died at 12:58 p.m. Tuesday at Golden Plains Community Hospital.

A housewife, she was a native of Caddo Indian Territory, Okla., and a Borger resident since 1929.

She is a member of the Franklin Street Church of Christ, Eastern Star, Royal Neighbors, Rebekah Lodge. She married Eulin Garland Stevens on County Line, Caddo, Oklahoma on July 9, 1913.

She is survived by her husband, Eulin of the home; six sons, James D. Stevens of Albuquerque, William F. Stevens and Dow Stevens, both of Borger; Grover Stevens of Lubbock; John Stevens of Borger, and Garland Stevens of Norman, Okla.; two daughters, Nadine Stevens Parker of Houston and Mary Ellen Stevens Evans of Lancaster, Calif.; four sisters, Virgie Rice of Albuquerque, N.M., Helen Moffett of Burbank, Calif., Amna Curry of Clovis, N.M., Eunice Ingram of San Jacinto, Calif.; a brother, Russell Dillard of Phillips; twenty four grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

Services are pending with Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors.
