HITCHCOCK — Mrs. Cheryl Alleene Unger passed from this life early Monday morning, November 15, 2004, at her home.
Born July 24, 1947, in Brazoria, Mrs. Unger was raised in Santa Fe and had made Hitchcock her home for the last 17 years. She had been a purchasing agent with Griffin LLC for 6 years and was well known as the owner and operator of Beauty Works Salon from 1974 to 1977. An outgoing person, Mrs. Unger enjoyed music and was especially devoted to her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, Robert Kenneth Unger, Jr. and father, Horace D. Eversole.
Survivors include her husband of over 39 years, Robert Unger of Hitchcock; sons, Dr. Robert Paul Unger and wife, Valarie of LaPorte, Kelley Shawn Unger and wife, Lisa of Hitchcock; mother, Sallee Charlotte Eversole of Santa Fe; brother, John L. Eversole and wife, Candy of Santa Fe; sisters, Charlotte DuBray of Santa Fe, Carla Tilitzki and husband, Emil of Santa Fe, Mary Jackson and husband, John of Georgia; grandchildren, Brandon Ybanez, Megan Trevena, Katelyn Unger, Ian Unger and Gavin Unger.
A memorial service will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, November 20, 2004, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Hwy 6, Hitchcock, (409) 925-3501, with Chaplain Chad Hawkins officiating.
