ROBY- Dulcie A. Sharp, 97, passed away Sunday, Aug. 29, 2010, at Grandview Nursing Home. Services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2010, at Weathersbee-Ray Chapel and burial in Roby Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m .on Tuesday at the Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home in Rotan.
Born Oct. 12, 1912, in Wheeler County, TX, Dulcie was a daughter of the late J.F. and Agnes Pearl (Finch) Upshaw.
Dulcie was a life-long resident of Fisher County until moving to a care home in Grandview, Texas. She married Tom Sharp in May of 1930.
Dulcie worked as a Licensed Vocational Nurse for over 60 years with over 20 of those years at Roby Hospital. Her hobbies were her kids and grandkids, playing bingo and spending time with her best friends Tootsie and Vela. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Roby.
Dulcie is preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, Arlon Sharp; one daughter, Billie Riney; two brothers, Truman and Glenn Upshaw; one sister, Pauline O'Brian; and one great-grandson, Brandon Holden.
Dulcie is survived by four grandchildren, Zonell Guthrie and her husband Corbie, Phil Sharp and his wife Diane, Vickie Mims and her husband Mark and Chris Sharp; five great-grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, Betty Adams; three nephews, Doug, Rand and Jerry Upshaw; two nieces, Jean Hamm and Wanda Early; one sister-in-law, Violet Upshaw; and numerous great-nieces and nephews.
