Betty Frances Wilfong, 79, passed away Sunday, December 6, 2009 in a local care center. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9th at First Baptist Church of Rotan, with Rev. Corky Wells officiating. Burial will follow in Belvieu Cemetery in Rotan, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory. Visitation is 6:30 to 8:00 pm Tuesday at Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home in Rotan.
Born January 12, 1930, Betty was the daughter of the late Lewis and Connie (Adkins) Caussey. She was raised and attended schools in Seymour. She married Ed Wilfong on June 18, 1954 in Rockwall, Texas. Betty moved to Fisher County in February of 1967 from Haskell. She worked for the Rotan ISD as the school Tax Assessor Collector until her retirement in 1994. She was a Methodist. She loved her yard work and roses. She was a wonderful cook, mother, grandmother and friend.
Besides her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband Ed on March 15, 2004; two sons, Joseph Dan Wilfong and Edward Dale Wilfong; and brother, Lewis Wade Caussey, Jr.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law of Rotan; daughter of Rotan; granddaughter and husband of Spur, TX; grandson and wife, of Abilene; two great-grandsons of Spur.
