Douglas E. Tolbert, 59, 1208 Roberts, died Monday evening in St. Anthony's Hospital in Amarillo.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. today in Keeler Baptist Church with the Rev. Joe Howard, pastor, officiating.

Burial was in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery by Ed Brown & Sons Funeral Directors.

A native of Durant, Okla., Mr. Tolbert had lived in Borger 24 years.

He was a veteran of World War II. He served in the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Tolbert was a member of the Adobe Walls Masonic Lodge and the Borger Elks Lodge.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce; two daughters, Mrs. Sharon Andrus and Mrs. Deborah Longanecker both of Amarillo; four brothers, Charles of El Cajon, Calif., Merle of Gilmer, Billy Joe of Houston, and Wayland of Amarillo; and three grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Don Newman, Glen Austin, Nels Larsen, Bob Garrett, Buck Burkhalter, Doug Holcomb, Red Sanders and Johnny Sweeney.

Graveside rites will be under the auspices of the Adobe Walls Masonic Lodge, 1355.

BORGER - Joyce Tolbert, 75, of Richardson and formerly of Borger, died Thursday, Jan. 11, 2001, in Dallas.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Westlawn Cemetery with the Rev. Leonard Forsythe, pastor of Bible Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Brown Funeral Directors.

Mrs. Tolbert was born in Durant, Okla. She had lived in Borger for 39 years before moving to Amarillo in 1987 and then to Richardson in 1997. She was a homemaker and a member of the Keeler Baptist Church, the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter No. 811 and the Borger Garden Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Tolbert, in 1982.

Survivors include two daughters, Sharon Andrus Hooker of Richardson and Debbie Longanecker of Dallas; and four grandchildren.
