TEXAS CITY - Mr. Ira Ray "Jack* Bailey passed from this life Friday evening, January 26, 2001, at Methodist
Hospital in Houston. Born March 24, 1935, in Midland, Texas, Mr. Bailey had been a resident of Galveston County for 18 years, spending six of those years in Santa Fe before recently moving to Tfexas City. He had been a tug boat captain for 42 years, having worked for Hollywood Marine in Houston for 20 years and for the last four years at T & T Marine in Galveston.
Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Sue Bailey; children and their spouses, Floyd Ray Bailey of Corpus Christi, Frankie and James Freeman of Channelview, Jackie and Cruz Patina of La Marque, Ricky and Judy Darr of Mississippi, Linda and Johnny Sims and Michael Cash, all of Sabine Pass; grandchildren, Shylo Sims, John Freeman,
Sara Bailey, Benjamin Bailey, Shareal Nutter, Bonnie
Chaboudy, Cruz A. Patina, Ashley Patina, Carrie Flood, Craig Episcopo, Cathy Episcopo, Charlie Ross, Jeremy Ross, Melissa Ross, Deserae Cash, Michael Man Cash;
eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Rita Bates and Otelia Patford, both of Evant, Sammy Ibronjo of Liberty; brothers, Pete Bailey of Freeport, Jim Lusk of Houston and many dear friends
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday,
January 30,2001, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home,
Pastor Alan R. Splawn officiating. Entombment will follow
at Grace Memorial Park
Casketbearers will be Bob Chaboudy, James Freeman, John Nutter, Cruz Patina, Jeremy Ross, and Paul Brown. Justin Nutter will be an honorary bearer.
Friends may call from 5-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, 10412 Highway 6, 925-3501.
