Mrs. Laura J. Baird Dies Thursday

Mrs. Laura Jones Baird, 92, died at the Saint Clair Convalescent Home in San Antonio, Thursday morning February 22.
Mrs. Baird was a native of Milam County, born in the Maysfield Community and was the daughter of the Late Mr.and Mrs. Jesse Jones, early pioneer residents of that community. She has been confined to the home for the past seven years and had lived in both Cameron and Rockdale for a number of years before moving to San Antonio. She was born April 7, 1857 and was the widow of the late Dr. W. L. Baird. Dr. Baird was connected with the Citizens National Bank during the early days of the establishment and held the position of cashier at the bank. She was a member of the Baptist Church.
Graveside services were to be held at the Pebble Grove Cemetery Saturday morning February 24, with Marek-Burns directing the arrangements.
Surviving is one nephew Walter Jones of Tyler.
