Albert E. Woodward, Jr., 84, died Monday, Sept. 30, 2002, in Borger.

Mr. Woodward was born on Aug. 23, 1918, in Temple. He moved to Borger in 1934 and graduated from Borger High School in 1935. He graduated from Texas Tech College in 1942, with a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering. He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1942, spending three years in the service during World War II. He worked four years with Southwestern Public Service Co. and also worked for Boeing Aircraft in Wichita, Kan. He returned to Borger in 1957, and worked for J.M. Huber Corp. in the Engineering Division, retiring after 23.5 years with Huber. He was a 50 year member of Isom Masonic Lodge No. 1242, 50 year member of Chapter No. 437 R.A.M., 50 year member of Council No. 354, R.S.&M. He was a 32° Scottish Rite Mason in Wichita, Kan.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda Woodward of the home; step-daughter, Marieta Dunaway of California and two step-grandsons.

Mrs. Albert E. Woodward of Borger, member of a pioneer Wellington family, died Monday, December 17, after an illness of about two years.

Mrs. Woodward is the former Patricia Sullivan, daughter of the later Mr. and Mrs. Pink Sullivan.

Born in Wellington May 5, 1923, she graduated from Wellington High School with the Class of 1939 and received her degree in business from Texas State College for Women, now Texas Woman's University Denton.

She was married to Vernon Ratzlow in 1943, and had lived in the Phillips-Borger area since then. Mr. Ratzlow died 9 years ago.

She and Mr. Woodward were married about 5 years ago.

She was a member of First United Methodist church and was active in church, community and social affairs.

Survivors are her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Linda Lewis of Borger and Mrs. Brian Taylor of Slidell, LA; one son, Russell Ratzlow of Austin; two brothers, Henry Sullivan and James Sullivan of Wellington; a sister, Mrs. J. W. Dickens of Big Spring; and four grandchildren.
