Margaret Russell, 91, passed away Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012. Celebration of life: 10 a.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church, 521 W. Pipeline Road, Hurst, with the Rev. Donna McKee officiating. Interment: Parker Memorial Cemetery, Grapevine. Visitation: none planned. She was born June 29, 1921, in Vincennes, Ind. She married Robert in Delta, Ohio, on March 1, 1941. They had three children. She attended Ypsilanti High School and graduated in 1939.
Margaret was employed by the Van Buren School District in Michigan as a secretary to the elementary principal for 15 years, was the Child Study Club president and served as president of the UMW at the Methodist church in Ypsilanti. She then moved to Bedford, where she lived for 24 years. Margaret was a member of First United Methodist Church, Hurst, UMW and the Sanctuary Choir. She enjoyed travel, choir, reading, quilting and golf.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Russell; brothers, Elmer, Orville, Charlie and Edgar; and sister, Joanne. Survivors: Margaret will be remembered by her loving children, Sharon Berch and husband, Bob, Mari McCracken and husband, Ed, and Rick Russell and his wife, Lee Ann; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Doris Scharp and Leatha Holly; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
