Funeral services for Jim John Barker, 74, of 121 Veta, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday from the CHurch [sic] of God on Franklin Street with the Rev. Kenneth Stephens, pastor, officiating.

Interment will follow in Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton Mortuary.

Barker died at 2:30 p.m. Monday at High Plains Baptist Hospital in Amarillo. He had been a resident of Borger since 1926 and will be remembered selling hot tamales up and down Main Street. He was a retired Church of God minister.

Survivors include his wife, Grace of the home; two sons, Rev. Jim H. Barker of Kansas City, Kans. and Dean Barker of Fitzgerald, Ga.; one daughter, Mrs. Robert Copeland of Plainsview; and 11 grandchildren.
