Services for Wilburn Willie Wenzel, 77, of Brownfield were held Wednesday, May 24, in Brownfield Funeral Home Chapel with Don McWhorter officiating. Burial was in Terry County Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Wenzel died Monday, May 22, 2006 in Brownfield.

He was born Nov. 25, 1928 in Clifton and was married to Mildred Bartley on March 2, 1949 in Wilson.

Mr. Wenzel was raised in Wilson and moved to Brownfield in 1942. He farmed for 25 years and also worked for Ross Irrigation, Halliburton, and Longhorn Trucking. He retired in 1994.

Mr. Wenzel was a member of Parkview United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife; two sons---Jerry and his wife---Patricia of Brownfield and Kenneth and his wife---Angie of Levelland and one daughter---Pat Burns and her husband---Bart of Brownfield.

Mr. Wenzel is also survived by one brother---Leo of Brownfield; one sister---Lorena Welch of Levelland and by nine grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Wenzel was preceded in death by two sisters---Christina Welch and Lillie Monroe.

Serving as pallbearers were his children---Jerry and Patricia Wenzel, Kenny and Angie Wenzel and Bart and Pat Burns.

Funeral services for Mildred Francis (Bartley) Wenzel will be held at 10 am Thursday, June 27, 2019, at Brownfield Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Rev. Don McWhorter officiating. Burial will follow in the Terry County Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.

Mildred passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2019, in Lubbock. She was born December 24, 1930, in New Lynn, Texas in Lynn County, a small community east of Tahoka, to C.E. Bartley and Eletha Dyke Bartley. She lived in Tahoka until November of 1937 at which time she moved to West Point on a farm where her dad started farming. They moved to Brownfield when she was in 7th grade and she lived there ever since. Mildred graduated from Brownfield High School in 1948. She married Wilburn Willie Wenzel on March 2, 1949, in Brownfield.

Mildred was a stay at home mom until her daughter, Patsy was 10 years old. She then went to Isabell Powell Institute and became a beautician. She was a beautician until she had to stop due to health reasons. She later trained to be an income tax preparer and then bought H&R Block franchise in Brownfield. She was the owner and manager of this business for 11 years, and then she retired. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilburn Willie Wenzel, and parents, C.E. and Eletha Dyke Bartley; two sisters, Bernice Stanton and Pearl Turney and a brother; Charles Bartley.

Mildred is survived by her two sons, Jerry Wenzel and wife, Patricia, Kenneth Wenzel and wife, Angie; daughter, Pat Burns and husband Bart; 9 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Thomas Bartley, Ronnie Bartley and Lonnie Bartley
