FOLLETT - Velma Fay Sperry Heil, 91, of Follett died Sunday, April 4, 2010, in Canadian.

Services will be at 10 a.m. today in First United Methodist Church of Follett with Daryl Wynn officiating and the Rev. Danny Sanders assisting. Burial will be in Fairmont Cemetery in Follett by Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian.

Mrs. Heil was born June 23, 1918, in Beaver County, Okla., to the late Clarence Sperry and Otal Herrian Sperry. As a small girl, she moved with her parents to a farm northeast of Follett and attended Follett public schools. She married John Heil on July 25, 1936, and to this union was born a daughter, Connie Jo Heil Albin. He preceded her in death on Nov. 15, 1992.

Velma was active in the First United Methodist Church. She was also involved with the Community Center and Friends and Neighbors organization.

She was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters, Walter Sperry, Goldie Sperry Keeter, Orville Sperry, Lucy Winn, Flossie Terrell, Earl Sperry and Ora Sperry; and her son-in-law, Larry Albin, on July 25, 2007.

Survivors include her daughter, Connie Albin of Canadian; her granddaughter, Darcee Dosher and husband Darrell of Canadian; her grandsons, David Albin and wife Amy of Canadian and John Albin and wife Phyllis Kay of Amarillo; nine great-grandchildren, Paden Albin, Samantha Albin and Dawson Albin, all of Amarillo, Bo Albin, Alex Smith and Shelby Albin, all of Canadian, Micah Hassell of Dallas, and Dallas Dosher and Dylan Abram, both of Amarillo; and a great-great-grandson, Camden Albin of Canadian.

The family suggests memorials be to the Edward Abraham Memorial Home, 803 Birch St., Canadian, TX 79014; First United Methodist Church, 400 East Ivanhoe St., Follett, TX 79034; or Fairmont Cemetery, P.O. Box 8, Follett, TX 79034.
