Clarence Edgar Box, 86, of Borger, died Wednesday, September 14. He was the brother of Mrs. V. H. Lindsey and often visited here.

About 1:30 a.m. Saturday, Mr. Box's grandson, Mark Box of the Dallas-Ft. Worth area, was killed in a car accident as he was enroute to the funeral, where he was to have sung. He was 27, and studying to become a church song director.

Family member have been told by investigating officer that Mark Box and his family had stopped near Quanah to repair a flat tire, the second within a few miles, and was standing at the back of the car when he was struck by an oncoming vehicle.

Mr. Box was born and reared at Hollis. He was a retire parts man for First Supply in Borger. He was a Baptist and member of the International Order of Odd Fellows.

Survivors are his wife, Ethel; two daughters, Elaine Oden and Marie Oden, both of Borger; three sons, Loyce Box of Borger, Loel Box (father of Mark Box) and Duane Box, both of Pampa; three sisters: Mrs. Lindsey; Alice Holliman of Hollis and Ola Campbell of Temple; 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
