Beth Golden Hawkins BROWNFIELD-Services for Beth Golden Hawkins, 80, of Brownfield will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2014, at Brownfield First Baptist Church Activity Center with Dr. Carl Moman and Ken Flowers officiating. Burial will follow in the Terry County Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home. Beth was a beloved wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and gracious friend to many and went to Heaven on Oct. 19, 2014. She was an elementary school teacher for the Brownfield School district for 34 years, most of those years she taught and loved all her students at Colonial Heights Elementary School. Beth married the love of her life, J.W. Hawkins on June 29, 1957, for 57 years of marriage they demonstrated their undying love and commitment to each other. She took great pride in being a mother and later in life a grandmother. She made her kids and grandkids feel very loved and special. Beth was a member of Brownfield First Baptist Church for 57 years and worked in the children's department for many years. She was a hardworking and gracious woman. She was always cheerful and fun to be around. Beth is survived by her husband, J.W. Hawkins of Brownfield; a daughter, Tressa Manly of Lubbock; a son, Jay Hawkins and wife, Becky of Austin; two grandchildren that were the light of her life, Madison Hawkins and MaKenna Hawkins of Austin; a sister, Linda Adamson and husband, Rod; and nieces, Lisa Hensley, Nicki Adamson and Lani Price. Beth was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Juanita Golden; a sister, Janie (Carol Ann) Golden Bennett; and a granddaughter, Gabrielle Hawkins.
